Look ahead on G code

I am wondering if EMC2 does any look ahead on the G code file it is processing?
I am thinking about multi axis profiling like mold work where looking ahead many blocks
and planning trjaectory can make the profile more accurate, operation smoother, feeds higher etc.
If it does, how many blocks?

Thanks for the reply. I would think the trajectory planner provides this function. Is there a guru of the planner?
