I dont want to configure A axis, i want to configure B axis, so is it necessary to put A information ?

If you don't have an A-axis, then why do you have 5 stepgens? You do everything else for the A axis except link it to parport pins.

It looks like another module (probably lp) has claimed the parallel port.

lsmod should answer the question as to which, and then you can usemodprobe to remove the offending module, then try again. If that works then you can blacklist the offending module.

Sorry for late reply, actually my previous emc setup ran on onboard PP. On this system I was using PCI PP... So it was difficult to setup in linux a little bit. So changing my board and updating what will happen then needed link and pivotpoint configuration.

Regards,

Have you correctly identified what the address of the PCI parallel port is?

@andypugh : i did set all stuff including homing sequence to all setup from 5axis sample reference, thanks a lot mate.

@Todd : thanks, i did changed PP type in BIOS to EPP and also updated to latest version i.e. EMC 2.7.0

Finally i am set to run stepper with 5Axis Skin, all set now. all i needed to do is how to change joints details, sample skin have B/C Head when my configuration is XZ axis B Head C table, now i am stuck where to dig.
Thanks

Hello Andypugh,

i have already studied that yeasterday before your reply, but it is little tricky for me, i am not able to understand how to create joint just between XZand B axis ? what is function of W axis in sample 5 axis config. ?

can you throw some light ?

Thanks.

You need to decide what the G-code axis words are going to mean in your config, then do the geometry to derive the equations for coordinates to joints and joints to coordinates.
