Controlling the Gremlin preview from a custom panel.

I want to make a custom panel to control the Gremlin preview.
I have attached a self explanatory picture of what I want to do.
The problem is I do not know how to access Gremlin from the python handler script of the custom panel.
I would be happy to hear from anyone who has information on how to do this, in any user interface, Axis, Gmoccapy or other.

Maybe I posted this in the wrong place. Should I have posted it in the GLADE VCP section perhaps?

Since there seem to be no answers here, is it possible that a moderator could move this to the glade VCP section. Maybe I have better luck there.
Or should I just make another post is the glade VCP section myself?
