ini file

Can you see all the config settings in a ini file????

no - there are some only used depending on optional criteria.
What are you really trying to do?

I was trying to keep from blowing my head off..


I bought a probotix electronic package and was told it was turn key just install and go, that was BS.

so they gave me a cnc file, but they have it locked up so you can not go in and modify the config on it, you can only look at the ini file.

so i was hoping i could see the config file setup in the ini to get a base.

but at this point i am so fustrated and pissed off i am just going to step away, It makes me so mad when people (salespeople tell you one thing and then when they get your money its a different story)

More then likely the INI was not built using a configuration wizard.
The INI is the file to edit in that case.

Sorry your having problems, but it _can_ be worked out.

I think part of the problem is the electronics package i got did not come with any info and i can not figure out what it is set at, the other problem is the info on linuxcnc is vague and does not go into any details about where and how to find these settings in the config so you can properly set it up.

i can't see the file being locked ?
however i can see you installing it , with the wrong properties , which would give that appearance .
try posting the file as an attachment here ,
as Chris & andy say , it wont take us long to figure the problem .
if you have a list of pins needed for the parallel port that would help , along as to which probotix driver you have purchased
