Hello,
Iam currently Retrofitting a CNC Machine with Linuxcnc for a customer.

This is the first time I use a Touchscreen and suddenly the first problems occured....

I got a Iyama Touchscreen, but against my hopes there's no Plug and Play.... and I have to solve the problem soon because otherwise I have to send it back.

I found this thread :

But I had the same problem as in the third post, make fales...

Does somebody know the cause of the problem ? And what's more important is there a solution ?

Which Touchscreens do you use and what did you have to do to make them work ?

Please reply :)

Thank you for your help !!

Can you describe your problem?

I used an ELO touch screen and other than manually setting the scale and offset for the touch it worked out of the box.

The Screen displays everything but the touch input is not working nothing happens.

I saw this thread on the net that I posted above.
This thread shows how to install the drivers for the touchscreen but i can't install it.

Look at the link I posted the same thing happens as you can see in the 3 post from the link...

I hope you understand everything now :)

Sorry for my bad englisch skills...

There is no link in the post.

Is it a usb or serial touch screen? I assume you plugged the touch interface in to the usb or serial port...

Looks like the patch is for a later version of Ubuntu than LinuxCNC uses.

On the page linked to the manual where you can get the patch from a several patches, maybe another one fits my needs?

Do you know which is the right one?

Sorry but I don't know if a patch exists, but look for one for 10.04.

Version 10.05.23 was tested with Ubuntu 10.04 LTS and kernel 2.6.32-xxx so that is the one you want.
