Have one old 15" DigiPos touch screen that I would like to get working. Sorry I do not have model number as it is partly dismantled.

Out from display comes a cable with VGA + RS232 + PS2 connector. VGA part is working OK with 1024x768 resolution.

Any tips on how to go about to set it up? I assume RS232 is for touch but what could PS2 be for?

Hints, tips and how to's is most welcome.

Cheers
Bengt

It must be old!

I suspect that the PS2 connector should plug into a PS2 mouse connector on the PC. Any I've used have a USB connector for the touch overlay as they basically act as a mouse once configured.

It certainly is!

Used with my router/mach3 8-10 years ago and it was old at that time already, but as a horder I tend to save things that works.

So assuming PS2 is for touch what can the RS232 be used for?

How can I test and see if I get any reaction from the touch via PS2?

I had a quick google. the PS2 could be an alternative interface to the DB9 for touch. It is slightly possible that the PS2 is for a barcode scanner. But sorry no drivers appeared. It might be possible to resurrect it with a touch screen overlay.

Barcode scanner is not possible as there is none. The cable out from display is with all 3 -in-1 cable and splits at PC-end.

So how to try resurrecting with *touch screen overlay* using Gmoccapy?

Does your PC have a PS2 port that you can try plugging the cable in to?

The serial connection will certainly need a driver.
A google search for "DigiPos" drivers took me to the Elo site, and they do seem to include drivers for serial interface screens.

OK, will try that route as the wiki.linuxcnc.org/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?Debian_Wheezy link did not work at all.

Thanks Andy
