I do not understand what's going on .... i hm2_pci drivers are always in their place ... I need to work with these machine ... (on ubuntu 10.04, lcnc 2.6.1)

As the error message says:

Debug file information:
A configuration error is preventing LinuxCNC from starting.
More information may be available when running from a terminal.
/home/k1/linuxcnc-joints_axes9/bin/milltask exiting
<commandline>:0: milltask exited without becoming ready

Did you try running LinuxCNC from the command line as suggested in the error message above?

Are you really using linuxcnc-joints-axes9?

If so, then the first thing I would suggest would be to switch to current master.

@andypugh ..... for upload to new master (that I test on single pc on ubuntu 12.04 and 12.04) I must upgrade from ubuntu 10.04 to ubuntu 12.04 at last .....

I ask more and more time if is possible to upgrade to new Master from old ubuntu 10.04 ... but is not possible .... first upgrade the kernel to new one ....

These week I try ubuntu 14.04 on kernel 4.4 but on that pc (atom based) I have not good user experience ..... better is 12.04 ... but unfortunately the kernel 3.xx RTAI or RE_preempt have more bug video driver related ....

For my situation is not so easy ...

OK, but which version are you using, and do you need joints-axes features?

you need joints-axes features?

yess joit-axes9 really on pre8 ... actually I have install lcnc 7.1....

I have now 2 possibility (these pc is I3 3.6Ghz...)
1: try to install ubuntu 14.04 and have new master (14.04 because i have other pc with same conf about openssl, libmodbus, ethernet conf and script ... and qt version) ... but the first one (on atom) is not so good ... maybe I have some trouble in my installation process...
2: understand the problem ...

really maybe the 1° one is the better because can solve some other problem with mesa sserial error (nr.7) ....

But is possible install and use 14.04 or better is use 12.04??
