Hi,

I am assembling a brand new CNC. The stepper motors will be controlled by a Leadshine MX4660 controller which has an integrated break out board.

I was thinking of buying a Mesa 5i25 and connect it directly to the Leadshine MX4660 break out board and use LinuxCNC.

I am new to all this. Would it work? Anything I should be aware of?

Thanks.

It ought to work, with the correct bitfile. (with a Mesa card the layout of the pins on the DB25 connector is set by the firmware, not the HAL layout.
Do you know what the pin allocation is on the drive?

I don't know the pin allocation, for now, but I will look for it.

I guess I will have to learn how to edit the default pin allocation of the Mesa card.

Thanks for your reply.

I have a MX4660 pin-out source file, I just have not compiled a 5I25 bitfile using it.
(i think someone asked for a 7I92 bitfile for the MX4660)
I can compile a bitfile sometime this week
