sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install mesaflash

Should get you what you need.

What is not working correctly with your machine?

If you bought the cards in the last year or two, the firmware is up-to-date
Its _very_ unlikely whatever issues you have are firmware related

Plotting the feedback position, commanded position, and analog out with halscope
will help you (and others here if you post a screenshot) understand why you do
not have good control of your motion and proved clues as to where to look for the trouble

Hello Bevins and PCW,
i have discribed my problem in this thread: forum.linuxcnc.org/49-basic-configuratio...-more-problems#85371 . There was no firmware on the mesaboards, i load them manually with downloaded file. The 5i25 is new(i found the old not), but the 7i77 is older. I get when i start Linuxcnc the message firmware of the mesaboards old should be updated. My machine has no internetconnection, is there a file available that can i download and copy on the machine and make there the update?
It's my last idea what can be wrong on my machine.
Hello Bevins does i need for your method an internetconnection? In what directory should i open the terminal for update?

Thanks

Hans

The instructions and script for updating the 7I77 firmware is here:

mesanet.com/software/parallel/sserial.zip

To update the 7I77, unzip this file in you home directory

then
cd utils/linuxcnc
./ssinstall
./update7i77
and follow the instructions

But note: Updating the 7I77 firmware will in no way affect your problem
you have some basic analog connection or hal setup issue, nothing to do with firmware

The 7I77 firmware update only affects a rarely occurring bug that causes loss of
serial communication (you would know if this happened as you would get a string of sserial error messages)

Hello PCW,
I open the halscope and select: axis.1.joint-vel-cmd(1/div), axis.1.f-error(5m/div), axis.1.motor-pos-fb(500m/div), axis.1.motor-pos-cmd(500m/div).
When I move the xis with the arrowkeys there is no change on the halscopedisplay.

Thanks

No, basic 5I25 firmware has been unchanged for a couple of years
