So i have this 7i76E card. and wanna wire a 7i73 pendant card, but i also wanna wire a 7i84 card for running a remote hardkey setup..

Wiring the pendant card is kinda straight up.. But when looking at the connectors in the some what to me strange documentation i can't seem to find a way of wiring the next serial card ?! Am i missing something vital here.. I wanna just chain the two serial cards after each other from one card to another.. but it seems i cant find were to wire the 7i84 to the 7i73 or vice versa after i wired either one of them to from the 7i76E card to J1.

You can only use one sserial expansion card per interface, To add additional cards you would need additional
RS-422 expansion ports (the 7I76E only has one built in expansion port)

Well that answers that then. And i can stop looking.. i can't run 2 cards, i need to decide either to use the 7i73 card or the 7i84 card.

You can run more sserial cards(up to 17 on a 7I76E), you just need a RS-422 daughtercard
(or just a SP491 chip wired to one of the TTL expansion ports to add a single port)

What daughtercard would you suggest then.. I'm piecing parts together here to make stuff work. I'm not an electrician.. =)

store.mesanet.com/index.php?route=produc...t_id=117&search=7i74
and (I think)
store.mesanet.com/index.php?route=produc...74_81&product_id=273

Would give you 8 smart-serial ports. You would need to ensure you had the right firmware to support it.

You would also need the right firmware (one which supports smart-serial on the expansion ports). There is a VHD file for it so it should exist somewhere.

Oh that was clever way of dealing with it.. not thought of that. Was looking at the 7i76E card blindly.. so a 7i92M should be able to deal with the fact im missing a parallell port on my machine im guessing - still a firmware issue tho?

I have several Ethernet ports on this computer tho. (its meant to run as a hardware accelerated router so it has several dedicated ethernet ports with hardware seperation)

No need for a 7i92M. The 7i74 should connect to one of the two 26-pin headers on the 7i76E.
