Need some help with Ubuntu and parallel ports

Need some help with Ubuntu. Used the EMC2 setup
Wizard the primary Parallel port at 0x378 works fine
but the second PCI card par port at 0x278 fails to work.

I have studied the ENC2 integrators manual and the help
info for Ubuntu OS and tried many things but no luck.
I have not even been able to discover if the OS has even
detected the card.

Can some one give me a quick tutorial or point me to
detailed information on how to deal with installing a
parallel port into the Ubuntu OS.

The PCI parallel card usually don't use 0x278. Use "lspci -v" command to find the address.
