Hello

Is it possible to use a USB slave device (in HID mode) to communicate with LinuxCNC?
I want to make my own user interface in hardware.

Thanks

I believe, yes.

USB mice, keyboards, and MPG units all work fine.

Yes, have a look at the hal_input component.
linuxcnc.org/docs/2.7/html/man/man1/hal_input.1.html
And this semi-worked example:
wiki.linuxcnc.org/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?Simple_Remote_Pendant
