Is it possible to use a USB slave device (in HID mode) to communicate with LinuxCNC?
I want to make my own user interface in hardware.

I believe, yes.
USB mice, keyboards, and MPG units all work fine.

Yes, have a look at the hal_input component.

Yes, have a look at the hal_input component.
