My machine is to slow.

Hi ,

I work now for more or less 3 years with my cnc Router. Everything was fine because I just made some simple operations with it. Now I began to work with a CAM Software to mill graphical Vectors. Now my machine is very slow. It seems that so many g codes are too much for my old Pentium machine. So I am not shure where the problem sits. How can I manage this topic?

How can I get my machine faster. Not just a little bit, I think about 20 to 50 times faster than actually?

Thanks for supporting me.

Sergio

In general machine speed is not directly affected by CPU power (unless you have a very slow CPU)

The old (pre LinuxCNC 2.7) trajectory planner runs quite slowly on Gcode made of many small segments,
so as a first step you should probably upgrade to LinuxCNC 2.7 and its new trajectory planner

Another thing that can improve performance is increasing the max accelerations. (Just don't go beyond what the machine's structure and motors can handle.)

Ok
I have the version 2.5 and I will have a tryout with 2.7.
My report will follow soon.

Thank you very much for the great support.
