Connect relays to 7i76

Hello
I'm not sure how to connect a relay to my 7i76 card.
It's a relay that will switch at 24V.
I already connected a 24V powersupply to my vfield. And that's working because my home switches are also connected to the vfield.

Maybe a stupid question or I'm not sure how it works. But how can I operate the vfield to go on/off? So the relay gets triggered.
The relay will operate the coolingpump

7I76OUT --> RELAY-COIL.1 --> RELAY-COIL.2 --> GND

If the relay draws more than about 60 mA you need a flyback diode across the relay coil:

RELAY-COIL.1 --> DIODE-CATHODE = band (7I76 side)
RELAY-COIL.2 --> DIODE-ANODE (Ground side)

I mean which pin on the 7i76 needs to be connected to the relay? That provides 24v?

Relay draws 70mA.

Outputs 0 through 7 are TB6 pins pin 17 through 24
Outputs 8 through 15 are TB5 pins 17 through 24

Outputs are sourcing, that is, they supply +24V to the relay when on
so the relay common must be at 24V GND

So the voltage provided at vfield will also be used as voltage for the output?

What about the flyback diode? Can i buy these or do i need to make them? As complete electronic noob

IN4001,IN4004,IN4007, take your pick. The difference is in the voltage they can handle

As you can see, they are hugely expensive

Diodes only allow current to flow one way from the non banded end to the banded end. Voltage loss across a diode is 0.6 volts which is not significant with 24v signals.

So I just need to order a diode and solder one in between the 7i76 and relais + and one between relais - and ground?

Just bridge it across the relay terminals as PCW said is how I would do it.
