yes in a custom HAL file you can connect the encoders to HALUI for override settings.
Was your config originally upgraded from emc 2.3 ? This would account for the firmware name change I think.

no. I installed ubuntu 10.04 emc2 2.4.5 and 2.4.6. names are SVST_
instead of SV_. but I corrected
However even if we tweak a little pncconf is very useful especially for the axes.
but it connects to hardware encoders. with my previous configuration I posted should work?
