I can see this has been asked before, I am new to Linux. I have built Mach3 PC for my mill and it works fine I would like to change to PathPilot as Tormach wont sell a complete controller. I have found a some post with motherboard recommendations but they are either no longer available or no stock Could you advise some current spec boards to run PathPilot, I not looking for the cheapest but some thing up to-date. Any help would appreciated or point me in the direction. Thanks.

I am just using an old xp computer ,nothing fancy (should have pci socket). My thought was to get most of the bugs worked out before I buy the exact computer that they recommend.

Get a good book on Linux commands. They seem cryptic at first ,but they will save you a lot of headaches once you learn them.

Invest in the mesanet.com interface boards , 5i25 -7i76 combo for stepper system and 5i25-7i77 combo for servo's.They make life a lot easier.

I'm using an old dell precision 380 with a quadro fx, with on board db25 and secondary db25 pcie. Got most of it working and moving just a few bugs here and there. But seems to be anything before the intel "I" series and sandy bridge is recommended.
