Well it could be done in the future - the next major release 2.8 i guess.
2.8 will not support Ubuntu 10.04 and I don't believe open cv is available for that as a package.
Some one else had figured out how to use mplayer to do something a little simpler.
i think the trailing deal is pretty smart!
