Hi all,

First of all. my name is Erik (from Holland) and i am new to this forum and linuxcnc. At the moment i have converted a mill to cnc with enclosure.
I got a controll pannel with touchscreen that works fine on linux.

Now i got some buttons and potentiometers i want to in stall. i got pokeys57u for that.
I installed everything but it seems not to working. I pree installed the ports 1 to 6 and 45 to 47 on the pokeys57u on pokeys software.
On linux i can't get it to work. Got no signals, but if i ask for usb devices is there with the serial number.

Does some one want to lead me to find the problem and get it working?

Have you compiled the component described at the beginning of this thread? You probably need the shared library too.

Perhaps say at which point in the setup things stop working?

Last time i compiled this i had to install the developmrnt version so the compile would work. That was a couple of years ago.

Yes, i complied the library and followed the instructions.

There is a section pokeys in halshow, I do every step to make conection with the serial number.
Unfortunately nothing happening. no signals or so. even not in halscope.

I don't know where to look anymore.

Just to be clear, does the module load and create HAL pins that do not work / change state, or does the module load and not create any HAL pins?

I think that the pokeys out of the box has no programing its pins are undefined. Did you load the pokeys app in a windows machine and define what the pins are. Input/output keypad, matrix. This might be your problem.

Yes, if is load Halshow i see the HAL pins from the pokeys. But nothing changes if i puls for example pin 6.

@jbunch

I define pin 1 to 6 as input die buttons and pin 45 to 47 for potentiometers in pokeys software on Windows.

Halshow only updates the "watch" tab. Is that where you are looking?

Ah...No, nothing in watch! Just empty screen.

I'm guessing it has to look like this? But then with my defined pins?

Yes, you should see your PoKeys on the left and can add the inputs to see what is going on (if anything).

You can also save the layout for next time in the File menu.
