From github.com/Kunena/Kunena-Forum/issues/8166

So for any body for whom this is a blocking issue (me :S).
make a backup of ./media/kunena/core/js/ckeditor.js
then replace the contents of ckeditor.js with this one: raw.githubusercontent.com/Kunena/Kunena-.../core/js/ckeditor.js

This will revert the editor version back to 4.16.0 that doesn't have this issue.
Note this is a workaround and may re-introduce other issues solved in (custom) 4.16.1

Looks like preview was removed by the latest release.

I suppose new is not always better haha.  Weird they got rid of preview.   The response in your link where the person said that it should preview as you type is unfortunately false.  I guess it would if I press source, and then click source again (it does, kinda, it still doesnt look exactly like the post comes out).

The update made mobile a bit cumbersome as well.
ignore this test for on the fly code insertion...

Best thing to do with code is to click on the code button then paste the code between the tags.

Is there anything that can be done about the right click menu? Im having a hard time using my browsers spell check with the new right click over taking the browsers right click.

edit, ok I see I can do it using the source button, but then it blocks out all the tag options
edit2, and then breaks all the tags

Click on the "source", upper left side of the editor.

The new editor is a disaster. The only way that I have found to use it in source mode and hand-type the tags.
And that only works until you try to edit.

I've tried hand typing the quotes and stuff as well, like I used to do in the old editor to break peoples walls of text apart and answer questions in order.  That doesnt work either.  It combines all of them into one large quote.

I miss broken email :(

Hand-typed tags works OK as long as you don't go back to the default view (for example, to see what it is going to look like)

But, I am not in a position to fix it.
