i have an problem i can't stetup linuxcnc for axis whit pwm control home made driver whit l293 motor driver ic on it can anny one help me to config this im a newbie whit linuxcnc

Are you trying to control a DC motor or a stepper motor?

What signals do you need to be output by LinuxCNC? What hardware interface are you using? (I assume a parallel port?)

Have a look at the "etch servo" sample configuration.

I am afraid that you will have to hand-edit HAL and INI files to make your system work.

what exactly is a "virtual encoder"?

Ah, yes, that is a slight problem with that config.

I think there are only about 10 Z moves in the splash-screen code. If you select "File->Edit" you can take those lines out.
(You might have to save-as the file somewhere in your home folder)
