emc on mandrake was created by whenu
Hi all greetings from the Antipodes.
I am a raw beginner with emc and linux so bear with me.
I have been given an old pc with Mandrake loaded on it.
Question 1; would it emc run on it and how easy/hard would it be to configure?
or 2; would I be wasting time and otherwise be better to go straight to Ubuntu with emc already loaded?
cheers, whenu

I would suggest downloading and burning the LiveCD and then boot from that to make sure your hardware will work ok.

The instructions are here:

Thanks John, but the system is that old it can't boot from disc so would probably be too slow to run emc.
Can the latency test be done without emc or is it part of emc?

The latency test AFAIK is part of EMC.
