I am not certain but perhaps:
github.com/dbraun1981/hal-cia402
seems to be what your looking for?

Let me know how you go as I'll be attempting linuxcnc to can bus communication soon and will be learning on the fly.

LinuxCNC-RIO - RealtimeIO for LinuxCNC based on FPGA (ICE40 / ECP5)

Category: Computers and Hardware

Also possible with W5500 on Mac level

No Thank You Very Much. Interesting none the less.

What we currently have is STUPID FAST and high performance already. Unless a mysterious someone has a requirement for an hypersonic motion machine-tool, nobody here (in our star system anyway) will be able to ceiling the perf of RIO as-is on any parts/processes level.

Not sure what you did but after updating the git today I'm clocking this x2 speed of what it was a few days ago. Used to be 2.5ms, now down to little more than a millisecond. Impressive stuff, Olivier.

160890 == 0.16ms
all over 1ms would be to slow because we have 1Khz servo-thread

New and Working RTAI debs for 2.9

uugp,

Some flaky BIOSes/UEFI implementations don't play well with RTAI and there's not really anything to be done to fix it except use a different motherboard. The laptop I've been using for RTAI development causes panics too.

Gaming motherboards are the best IMO because of the flexibility and usually stable BIOS, especially ASUS (TUF, Prime, ROG, etc.)

New and Working RTAI debs for 2.9

Category: Installing LinuxCNC

Congratulations.
but, I am unlucky.

On RTAI kernel. can be installed and everything works fine, fresh Debain 12.6 and 2.92 or 2.93 and RTAI258 or RTAI279.
But,
Starting linuxcnc, freezes.
Running /usr/realtime*/testsuite/run test, freezes.

btw, usapce work well on Debain with RT kernel.

Remora - ethernet NVEM / EC300 / EC500 cnc board

Category: Computers and Hardware

P_GAIN = 300
FF1_GAIN = 0.1
DEADBAND = 0.01

try it with these numbers, I think this is what im using on one of mine. What I found with another user, was that this wasnt entirely deadband related.

Alternatively, there is a tuning program within the Axis Gui, under Machine menu called Calibration. you can manually adjust these numbers while running linuxcnc

linuxcnc.org/docs/devel/html/gui/axis.html#_menu_items

edit, in the other thread, why did you make your deadband a negative number?

New install.
Did not want to say this often, but from experience i know playing with network manager and etc/network/interfaces file usually can not be recovered easily, as those are also tied to other networking stuff in Linux.

 PCW, Tommylight: I deleted the 10.10.10.1 gateway entry and the "IPV4 Addressierung". Both has no effect for the connections.
Chris(at)cnc: I tried your interfaces file - after restart I have no connections anymore.

So, I think I should give it up. I go with the status quo and start with manually configured connections as before, in network manager.
I would like to have a starter file on my desktop, with the ethtool line.
Can you help me to create that batch with sudo ethtool -C eno1 rx-usecs 0 ? I created a file called ethtool.sh, but I can't start it with double-click.
Then, I created a starter file with  Exec=konsole --hold -e bash /home/hanno/Schreibtisch/ethtool.sh but that doesn't work. I found that line in a forum posting but I dont have the slightest idea from that...

Thanks for all your help!
