Your DISPLAY needs to remain unchanged and point to AXIS.

DISPLAY = axis

My guess is it is this line from the error

Starting EMC2 DISPLAY program: ./tkapp.py
Shutting down and cleaning up EMC2...

if tkapp.py is in the same directory as your config remove the ./ from it and it should work.

To use ngcgui go to a tab and fill in the blanks with the proper values. Click on Create Feature then click on Finalize. The ngcgui program will build the file by adding the preamble, the subroutine and then tack a M2 on the end to finish off the g code.

The real power comes when you have more than one step you need to do. Just go to each tab and fill in the blanks and click on Create Feature but don't click on Finalize until you have all the features built. You can change the order of the features before clicking on Finalize.

Is "numof_3pwmgen" ever a valid modparam? I thought it was "num_3pwmgens".

In either case, it will cause the drivers to not load and emc2 to fail to start with 2.4. On reflection I am not sure that that is the most logical behaviour. Perhaps it should carry on regardless?

here is a sample config with just random settings:
You may need to edit the mesa load config to get it to run
on 2.4. (the 3pwmgen line)

Hey Zig.

i could make a sample config.
I need some info though.
i need to know the stepper and encoder scaling.
If you know the scaling great other wise can you give me as much info
in the axis scale screen shot as you can / appropriate.
And how do you control your spindle.

Andy,

Not a bad suggestion.

I do however make PCBs I hope for living ( www.iconicpcb.com) so its not much of an impost.

It is a slightly modified EMC2. I am already in touch with the programmer, who also says that G61 should not produce what comes out from the machine.
Let's see if he finds something!

Subroutine GUI

No, ngcgui is a way to put together subroutines to make a program. For example on my lathe I have subroutines for facing, OD turning, drilling, tapping, parting off. So using ngcgui I can put the parameters in for each one and set the order that they are created then run the complete program. It is a very powerful tool and for me almost eliminates any hand coding or CAM needs for my lathe.

I have pyvcp buttons programmed to do things like rapid to home position on my plasma...

What are you trying to do/control?
