Hi All
Have just brought a chinese 2.6 kw braked servo to run the z axis of my Deckel FP4.
The smaller 1kw servos i brought a few months ago came with pre wired tails to connect up to my mesa 7i96S and i have had them up and running fine.
This new driver however came with a bare plug and some chinese instructions
I have wired up the new plug according to the wiring with my step and dir signals going to pins 37 39 41 and 43
Fired up linux cnc to no result.
Brake was released manually before hand.
Tested using one of my x and y outputs also to see if it was a configuration error which it doesnt seem to be.
once the brake is released the motor can still be spun by hand almost like the drive is not sending power to the motor.
Ive had the motor turning under a test cycle after which the motor shaft will lock up like it should.
I also had a thought that this driver might need an enable signal which i tried to replicate by bridging pins 11 and 9
any other ideas as i am running out.

Yes, the enable signal is needed. But you need to set up the driver and motor first.

Thanks
I think I know where I have gone wrong.
I was working of a chinese translation of the above and thought the driver was suppling its own power. Now ive read the english one above better i need to supply 24v power in to pin 11 and earth pin 9 to make it work.
Will try when i get home and hopefully get some action.

I just received a XP200-30pl servo drive and I am now looking for a manual in English. The documentation sent was a one page sheet all in Chinese I noticed in this thread that there is a I/O drawing in English. If someone has a English manual for the XP200 please send let me know.
Thanks

Hi,
Apologies for hijacking this thread.
I have one of these XP200 drives that I'm about to start using for a project, I want to use it in speed mode, so set it to a certain RPM and have it try to maintain that RPM under varying load.
What's the easiest way to set it up in speed mode without a computer (I might add a computer later), I was envisioning connecting up a potentiometer but I'm guessing it's probably not going to be that easy, as this thread is saying I need to supply 24v to enable it or is that only for STEP/DIR?
Thanks!
