Hi there, a desperated newbie calling for help!

i started my plasma build with the intention of using software stepping on a parport. I got the motion to work but the in- and outputs acted weird so i thought i would give a mesa card a try.
I ordered a 7i92TM, set the jumper to address 10.10.10.10. card pings fine but mesaflash will not find the board.

after searching the web and the forum for hours i cant figure out whats wrong..

ip a gives the following :

It may be that your version of mesaflash is too old for the 7I92T

I would install the latest (3.5)

github.com/LinuxCNC/mesaflash

(install instructions at bottom of page)

Try in a terminal:
sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade
then if the upgrade does not mention mesaflash
sudo apt install mesaflash

I doubt if the Debian version is up-to-date
I would install from github as I suggested

Mesaflash is s seperate install to linuxcnc and it will not be up to date in Debian 12. It does exist in the Linuxcnc repository

What is the exact mesaflash command you used and what was the exact response?

I would try:

mesaflash --device 7i92t --addr 10.10.10.10 --readhmid
