Hello, I have recently gotten another 7i96s board and I am trying to put the same MPG firmware on there I got from PCW a few months ago. It worked fine on my other 7i96s board but not this new one. I am getting an error during the verification. I'm just wondering if there is something that has changed in the past few months that could have caused this, and if possible, how to fix the firmware so it reads correctly.

Attached the firmware in question. Here is my previous post regarding this firmware.

I'd try reflashing, may have been a "glitch" when downloading.

May be a mesact issue

I would just flash it by hand using mesaflash on the command line

(just tried with the zip file here and it works as expected)

Custom firmware should be flashed with mesaflash in a terminal.

Ok, just did the flash using mesaflash. Seemed to have worked. Not sure what's up with mesact. It worked fine the first time I did it. Oh well, easy enough to do from the terminal.

sudo mesaflash --device 7i96s --addr 10.10.10.10 --readhmid
sudo mesaflash --device 7i96s --addr 10.10.10.10 --write name.bin
sudo mesaflash --device 7i96s --addr 10.10.10.10 --reload
sudo mesaflash --device 7i96s --addr 10.10.10.10 --readhmid

How did you add the firmware to MesaCT?

I put it into the .local/lib/libmesact/ folder and selected it from the dropdown list in mesact's firmware panel. Then tried to verify and got the error.

I just tried it again after flashing using the terminal and now it is verifying it as ok. Maybe just a weird bug?

I see the exact same issue with 7I97T+7I76: I've flashed and verified the firmware using mesaflash, and I also copied those firmware files to local/lib/libmesact .

When I use MesaCT and select the firmware and click "VERIFY" I receive a similar message to the one the OP posted.

Might be helpful for mesaflash to echo the file name when
verifying, in case there is an issue there.
