Hi all, I'm looking for some suggestion. I'm running a tetrapod kin machine which basically is a platform moved by 4 wires on a big flat surface. (No milling, just artistic pourpose so no danger at all)
I need to rotate one object on that platform on 1 axis, i think C-axis, since the movements are on the xy plane and rotation will be on z axis.. but i cannot bring cables there.
So I need wireless. I tought a possible solution could be Hal2Arduino, and from arduino reply the command wirelessly to another arduino. Any suggestions? is there a better way?

Thanks for the attention, Davide.

You already have 4 wires going to the platform. Can you use those?

No, that's not the problem.
The c-axis motor, is a battery powered stepper. I cannot bring cables to it. So i need to comunicate wirelessly to it.

They are 6mm diameter steel cables. No.

Spidercam passes control signals down the winch wires:

6mm steel cables so conduct, and I think are even used as conductors in some low-voltage lighting systems:

Otherwise, maybe some sort of infra-red link would be the easiest way to do it?

Spidercam use optic fiber inside. I think those cables are going to cost a lot. And also i should modify the winches drums to make the coupling for the fiber..
Infrared is not a good solution because i need to transmit to a max of 100mt.
I made hal2arduino work, but i have 1 second delay between the command and the movement. I'm looking for some 0.1 sec max delay. So I have to find a way to take my signal out of Hal to an arduino or something and trasmit.
I don't know whether to use a 2.4gHz bridge, or to go wifi with a powerful router.

I really do think that using the cables as conductors is the neat way.
Though at 100m I guess that the fan-out to the winches prior to the fan-back would be awkward.

I'm sorry, I don't know what do you mean by fan-out fan-back..
