[SOLVED] "direct drive" instead of Step and Dir was created by _AR_
Hello!
I bought these motors and drivers on ebay because:
1) They were cheap and I just want to play around with designs for a while.
2) They should work good enough.
Here is some information from the Ebay seller. It is all the info I have:
www.pacificsites.com/~snyder/stepper.htm
www.pacificsites.com/~snyder/.../CablePins.jpg (I just have 3 motors connected as of now)
www.pacificsites.com/~snyder/Ebay/Esale.jpg (set up similar to this, except with a slightly different power supply, which info can be found here: www.phihong.com/assets/pdf/PSA075.pdf)
I would love to be able to play around with them on EMC2, however I do not know how to configure it appropriately. The stepconf wizard only allows for a Step and Direction signal setup. My drivers have 3 wires that connect to the parallel cable: +CW, ground, +CCW. One pulse on pin one turns it one step CW, etc. (I believe this is how it works, anyway)
Is there any way to set up EMC2 to do this, or is it only compatible with step&direction pulse driven motors?
Thanks!

SOLVED.
Found out I have to use STEPGEN type 2 (2-phase) instead of the default type 1 (step and direction). More info here: www.cnczone.com/forums/showthread.php?p=786914
