I promised a list of stupid questions earlier.

Here's question number two:
I'm running a gantry router.
My CAD/CAM program generated the following.

N1G54G17G20G40G80G90G99
N2G0X0Y0Z6.
N3X5.Y5.
N4T1M06
N5(*** T1 *** .375 Endmill ***)
N6G00X1.9334Y1.0513S5200M03
N7G43Z1.H1T1
N8Z.1
N9G1Z-.5F62.4M08
N10G42X1.8208Y1.0513D1F110.
N11X1.8771Y1.1487

I get N1-N6.
From line N9 on it runs the program just fine, now for the poser.
N7G43, “Path compensation left of the work piece contour with altered approach”
I get compensating for the tool radii, the “altered approach” is where things get interesting.
It sends my Z axis to it's lower limit switch and shuts me down.
I can mess with touch off and get the program to run but not at the proper height.
What is this line of code doing exactly?
And is there a more appropriate Gcode to use or change it to.

The more I read the more confused I get.
If I can get the CAM program and LCNC to jive in this last area I can make some chips and come up with more stupid questions for the amusement of all who wish to be involved. :woohoo:

Thanks for the help, again.

Just had another thought.
Where is LCNC getting the T1 data from for N4T1M06, the tool table in LCNC?
The CAM program identified a tool w/off-sets when I generated gcode, am I stacking cutter compensation?

With G40 in play what "path compensations" are "off"?

Which "canned cycle" is G80 turning "off"?

What "axis offset" is G99 proforming?

My stupid question list is grpwing.

Never mind!
Found a Wiki tutorial and it all came into focus.
