Hi Guys,

I have a 7i76e that it was working really good until today. It just stopped connecting to Linuxcnc. So when I check the card.

It has the CR1 in Yellow and the CR2 in Red. I tried different PSUs and switched down the jumper W9, nothing happened.

I read I might have to re-flash it? the board is only 3 moths old.

Please let me know what you think and if you know how to flash it.

Thanks,

David

hi it needs to be flashed i think to
first can you ping the 7i76e
does it respond on the ip

then simply get the bitfile from mesa
if you do not have mesaflash
To install mesaflash:
sudo apt-key adv --keyserver hkp://keys.gnupg.net --recv-key 3cb9fd148f374fef
sudo add-apt-repository "deb linuxcnc.org/ jessie base 2.7-uspace"
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install mesaflash
check the bitfile if it is one there

mesaflash --device 7i76e --addr IP --readhmid

to flash the firmware (using the correct bit file for your application)
sudo mesaflash --device 7i76e --addr 10.10.10.10 --write BITFILE

to reload the firmware
mesaflash --device 7i76e --addr 10.10.10.10 --reload

POWERCYCLE THE CARD
reread again

mesaflash --device 7i76e --addr IP --readhmid

If both /DONE and /INIT LEDs are stuck on after power cycling the 7I76E in both EEPROM select jumper positions. The card must be returned to Mesa for evaluation

Thanks for the reply guys,

So, Both CR1 and CR2 are on when I power up the board, no communication to the board is available so I can't ping the board. Jumper W9 makes no difference. It's weird because it was working fine.

I'll call mesa today to see if I can send it back.

Thanks,

David

Received the card, there's some non-obvious issue with FPGA/fLash chip communication so we are replacing the card.

I know this is an old topic, but unfortunately, I've run into the same problem. I've had the card for a few months, and I just got things running like they should. And now this...Tried both W9 positions, but I only get the red and orange LEDs, and no communication via ethernet. Is there a solution for this problem?

CR2 on (?DONE) is a bad sign , it means the FPGA wont load a configuration at startup
I would email Mesa and ask for a RMA# to evaluate/repair/replace the card
