LinuxCnc for usb was created by Danny
Hi I am new here.
So I immediately fall in the house with the door. (proverb)
My question is if anyone has tried LinuxCnc to disk for USB yet.
I own BF30 which I am converting now.
And currently use Mach3.
I am currently using MXhc MK4-V as a control.
Best regards. Danny

What do you mean by "LinuxCnc to disk for USB yet."

Do you mean installing to, booting from & running from a usb disk ?

That was actually the question.

LinuxCNC does not work over USB and I don't think it ever will. The USB interface is technically not suited.

There has been some work, there is a mention of it on the forum.

But generally the answer is no, due to the non realtime issues with USB. This has been talked about numerous times on the forum. Nor will Linuxcnc work controllers deigned for Mach3/4.

In Australia if you were starting from scratch and needed to build a PC, by the time you have bought a Legal version of Windows 10 and a licence for Mach 3/4, a setup using a Mesa card would be cheaper. It would be even cheaper if you went for just going to use an on board Parallel Port.
