Linuxcnc 2.8.1 Rotary Axis was created by Barry
I have a ratcheting rotary joint/axis so it can only move in the CW direction.
In Linux 2.8.1 under Buster what commands do I use in the .ini file and hal to control this movement?
In LinuxCNC 2.7 all I had to do was place the command WRAPPED_ROTARY=1 under the A-joint/axis and it controlled the movement to rotate only in the CW unless I inserted a negative number but in LinuxCNC 2.8 the rotary axis is calculating the shortest movement to the designated angle.
Example in LinuxCNC 2.7 if the current angle was 10 degrees and target angle was 0 degrees the joint would wrap in the CW direction all the way around to 0.
However in LinuxCNC 2.8.1 if the current angle is 10 degrees and target angle is 0 the joint moves in the CCW direction because this is the shortest movement to 0 degrees.
Thank you,
Barry

Are you saying adding 'WRAPPED_ROTARY =1' doesn't work anymore?

Well, last night WRAPPED_ROTARY =1 was not working correctly, but today it is working correctly....Weird! The only thing I did differently was shutdown the machine last night and rebooted it today. ....But it's working now so I'm good to go!
Thank you for the response and willingness to help.
Have a good day,
