Ok so I have just about everything working on the CNC mill except for reverse, I have been trying to find out why with no answer yet.
I'm running a Teco FM50 VFD 0-10v linuxcnc is controlling the up and down speed and the m3 works, when I try m4 or the reverse button on linuxcnc it just runs forward. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Mike

Since we have no magic crystal balls to show us what and how you have there, it is very hard to reply to such questions.
All of the stuff i mentioned can be a cause for it, so you will have to provide us with much more info, not just "it does not spin in reverse".
Get some pictures of the wiring, upload the configuration files, a PDF or a screenshot of the inputs on the VFD, then we can at least have something to go on.
There is always another wire that has to go to the VFD to tell it to go in reverse, do you have that wired ?
Do you have a line in hal that will send an output to that wire and ultimately to the VFD to tell it to spin in reverse ?

One small expirience:
If running i one direction: just toggeling the direction signal does not work.
You have to dissable the enable signal for a short moment too.
