Essay writing has never been easy. It is observed that students at every stage of their academic life struggle with their essays. There is many essay writer are available on the internet. In the past, essay writing was a hobby of the academic elite; however, in the modern academic spectrum, every student gets to write multiple numbers of essays in each given year. Perhaps, it has become the hobby of teachers to assign their students to write essays. Although, it will be unfair to claim that students do not get to learn the skill of essay writing in class. Teachers do teach essay writing, but it may be the case that students are unable to learn that, as it can be rather difficult.
There are several types of essays, depending on their style of writing and the nature of the topic. For instance, argumentative essays, persuasive essays, descriptive essays, and analytical essays, etc. There is no certain formula to know the type of essay you are assigned to write about, however, there is likely to be the case that your teacher will instruct you to produce a certain type of essay. If not, you can judge that from the title very easily. When you have decided the kind of essay you want to write, it is time to start writing.
In this blog, I am going to teach you how you can use rhetorical devices to make your essay invincible. Rhetoric devices are some wonderful methods that you can use to better your argument. You can deliver your argument and message to persuade the readers in a better way with the use of these rhetorical devices. In the following paragraphs, I am going to show you some amazing rhetorical devices through which you can spice up your writings and take your essay to a whole new level.
Let’s start with Anadiplosis. Anadiplosis is a wonderful rhetorical device that will polish your content and spark emotions in the mind of the readers. Anadiplosis is a rhetorical device in which you use a word or a clause repetitively. You can repeat a word or clause at the beginning of the next clause or sentence to make it look better. For instance, “the ceremony was a beginning of torture, a torture that did not end soon”. This is an easy rhetorical device that will beautify the sentence as well as add life to your content. If you are an essay writer, anadiplosis is a treat for the efforts that you have been making.
Apophasis is another important rhetorical device that you can use in your essays. While using apophasis, you bring something to the reader's attention by first negating it completely and then mentioning it again. For instance, “I am not saying that it was my friend’s fault that we arrived late at the airport, but I did see him wasting his time while getting ready”. This rhetorical device demands you to be creative in your thoughts about persuasion.
Apophasis is a good way to persuade your readers to agree on a fact. If you find it difficult to implement in your essay, you can also get help from a legit essay writing service, so you can be sure that you will get the right thing.
A similarly amazing rhetoric device is Polysyndeton. In this rhetorical device, you use several ‘and’ even if they can easily be replaced with commas. This intensifies the sentences and emphasizes the concept that you are presenting in your sentence. For instance, “John ate and drank and enjoyed and laughed and celebrated his bachelor's party with his friends”. Using multiple ‘ands’ will beautify and intensify your sentence.
Another important rhetorical device is Chiasmus. While using Chiasmus as a rhetorical device, you will use the words in the reverse of grammatical order. By doing this, you will create a stylish effect in your writings. Although it is a great rhetorical device, however, I will not recommend it for official documents or important essays. It is because traditional English teachers might be offended.
However, you can use it for other informal writings. When I write my essay, I make sure to use these rhetorical devices as they beautify my content. For instance, “if you decide to ride with me, enjoy it you will”.
Alliteration is another useful rhetorical device that you can use in your essay to make it worthwhile. This is my favorite rhetorical device that I often use to create style in my writing. To use this rhetorical device, you can use multiple words that sound similar, for example, “on this Sunday, you will have fabulous, fiery, fiesta salsa”. It might take some time to make up these words or find them in the dictionary. However, when you find the best words, you will not stop reading your sentences.
Another important and valuable rhetoric device is Litotes. I will not recommend this rhetoric device to use in your essays. However, for informal writings, it is of great importance and value. Using this rhetorical device will create a great style and modern look to your sentences as you write something. For instance, “this restaurant does not serve bad food, does it?” In this rhetorical device, you need to provide an understatement to narrate the obvious fact through a negative comment. Again, I would not recommend this rhetorical device for official communication or in your essay given by your traditional English teacher. However, you can use it otherwise to make your writing more persuasive.
