I was asking a new question, not answering your previous one.

I will see if I can track down the Weiler config.

Good day Andy

1)The carousel.0.sense pins do change according to the rotation
2) the carousel.0.active pin is not connected to anything
3) the iocontrol.0.tool-change pin never goes active ( T2 + M6 command )

That sounds like the tool-prepared pin isn't being set after tool-prepare goes high?

This is the relevant bit from the weiler lathe andy mentioned.
I hope its the latest version, let me know if it doesnt work.
the encoder inputs are connected according to the original schematic, which also matches the documentation for the encoder.
the reverse and forward you have to try.
Code:
loadrt carousel pockets=8 encoding="binary" pty=0 addf carousel.0 servo-thread net tool-num iocontrol.0.tool-prep-pocket => carousel.0.pocket-number net tool-change iocontrol.0.tool-change => carousel.0.enable net tool-changed carousel.0.ready => iocontrol.0.tool-changed net rev1 carousel.0.motor-fwd => hm2_7i92.0.7i77.0.0.output-04#reverse net rev2 carousel.0.motor-rev => hm2_7i92.0.7i77.0.0.output-05#fwd net reva carousel.0.sense-0 net revb carousel.0.sense-1 net revc carousel.0.sense-2 net revd carousel.0.sense-3 net revs carousel.0.strobe net revp carousel.0.parity

Thanks Andy
Does tool-prepared not mean that the carousel/turret is now in its commanded position?

Thank rene-dev

My carousel(turret) has 4 positions with sense pins at every position.
Turns only in one direction ( hydraulic push - pull ratchet system) see video above somewhere
encoding = single ( I believe)

Good day Rene-dev

My Weiler lathe must be a older unit i guess
anno early 1980's ( still a solid and accurate unit - super over designed )

ah, that looks completely different from mine, didnt see the video before my first post...
this type of toolchanger cannot preselect, so the prepare pins need to be loopbacked.

no, prepare means preselect the next tool.
some toolchangers can get the next tool before you need it, so the actual change is quicker.
yours cannot do that.
preselecting is explained in this video:
