Have you tried to just re-home the axis... that seems to work in the sim.

Hello John

the axis rotates, which I want to avoid.
I use a 3D printer LinuxCNC. After a job XYZ be reduced to zero.
The A axis retains its value. When I start a new job it rotates to zero and used filament that should not be. Therefore I'm looking for a solution.

Does the extruder axis have a homing routine? I wouldn't think so.
It should just reset it to 0 without moving.
If you are using the axis GUI click the menu item "machine" then "homing" then "home A axis"

Neither options should cause movement, you will need to attach your ini file.
