Hi,
You don't have to compile a source code.
What do you want to modify exactly?
You can modify or add whatever you want through python config files e.g. of your machine folder.
linuxcnc.org/docs/html/gui/
regards.

Editing the /usr/share/axis/tcl/axis.tcl file with gedit
# Comments what you do not need and change the values of buttons and texts
I've been trying for months.
I have to be able to put the pyvcp panel in the sx frame and change the color to the buttons

Here it is, but for a 3 axis you will see that it is not good, but you know how to do it.
I also wrote in Italian
eccolo, ma per un 3 assi vedrai che non va bene, pero' capisci come fare.
www.w3ii.com/it/tcl-tk/tk_widgets_overview.html
Rename it in axis.tcl
