Tried typing by hand but then got errors. Pendant seems to be working fine though. What are those lines supposed to do?

Also, I figured out how to assign MDI to the macro buttons.

Not exactly sure as I don't have a pendant but it would seem that these would be to display spindle status and RPM on the pendant.

#net pdnt.spindle.is-on whb.halui.spindle.is-on spindle.0.on
#net pdnt.spindle-speed-abs whb.halui.spindle-speed-cmd spindle.0.speed-out-abs

and this might be to home all axis by pressing a button the pendant:

#net pdnt.button.m-home whb.button.m-home halui.home-all

and this might be to indicate on the pendant that the respective axis is homed:

#net pdnt.axis.X.is-homed halui.joint.0.is-homed whb.halui.joint.x.is-homed
#net pdnt.axis.Y.is-homed halui.joint.1.is-homed whb.halui.joint.y.is-homed
#net pdnt.axis.Z.is-homed halui.joint.2.is-homed whb.halui.joint.z.is-homed

But really I'm just guessing by looking whether the pin it's connected to is an input or an output pin.

[edit]
Have you looked for those missing pins in hal-show?

Thanks again. This has been a real help to me. I'm just starting on HAL configuration and have tons to learn. I will give halshow a try a bit later.

I am having similar issues with this component. I did however notice that the Product ID of the USB stick is not the same as what the component is looking for.
The component loads this
Code:
init  not waiting for device XHC-WHB04B-6 vendorId=0x10ce productId=0xeb93, will continue in 0s
lsusb reports this:
Code:
Bus 001 Device 007: ID 10ce:eb70 Silicon Labs

The product ID is not the same. Could this be a problem?

Marius

Mine had the product ID eb93 which matched what was described for creating the UDEV file as in this link: linuxcnc.org/docs/2.8/html/man/man1/xhc-whb04b-6.1.html#UDEV Perhaps you could simply try to change it from eb93 to eb70 and give it a whirl. Does it work running as standalone as described here?: linuxcnc.org/docs/2.8/html/man/man1/xhc-...l#STANDALONE%20USAGE

Just guessing but I'm sure someone will come along that knows more than I do.

Seems like I have the wrong hardware here.

I think you have the wired hb04 instead of the wireless whb04. There is a man page for that one too linuxcnc.org/docs/html/man/man1/xhc-hb04.1.html
