Axis error 0 following error was created by Air Chunk
Hello,
I have a new to me (used) Daewoo Puma 10 cnc lathe that has the linux cnc on it.
I ran the x axis to the soft limit stop and could not get it to come off of the stop.
(unlike my milling machine that has the linux on it also)
The guy before me retrofitted it linux.
So to override the limit switch there is a toggle switch. that you have to hold down with your hand to get it off of the stops.
Well , it did not work.
SO I manually cranked it off of the stop , Now all I get is an error code
Axis 0 following error.
I am not sure what to check.
Any help is appreciated.
Thank You!

It sounds like the servo amp might still be disabled.
"Axis.0.following error" means that the X axis (cross-slide) is not moving to where the system is trying to move it to.
Specifically, if you look in HAL (you can use halmeter, or halshow (Machine-Show HAL config in the Axis GUI) to see the values active in HAL. You will see that axis.0.motor-position-cmd and axis.0.motor-position-fb are not the same number.
You should see the motor-position-fb pin change when you move the axis manually. If not then something is wrong with the encoder.

I think that is up to you to decide.
