Basic Mesa 7i76e Wiring Question
(you need to jumper it to TTL mode)
Diode spec is not very important but low drop
Not sure if you could use a relay, the Error/reset pin is low current AFAIK

Thanks for that PCW,
One more thing, What does SPARE S/D OUT mean?

PCW,
I am trying to set up my drive fault detection from my Gecko 320X drives using the 7i76e encoder index pin to read the error/reset circuit as you suggested earlier in this thread,
I have wired TB3 pin 13 to link into the error/reset circuit and I have set W13 to TTL.
I cannot get the encoder input to change state in HAL Show when I apply power to the drives and when I fault them. Nothing under encoder changes in Hal show when I turn the drives off and on.

What is I were to wire up the negative lead from the circuit to IDX- pin 14 on TB3 and set it to differential?
Will that work?

I would first check that you can change the state of the index pin in hal by grounding pin 13 (it should be pulled-up to 5V with a 2K resistor on the 7I76E so should idle high)

Ok I checked Pin 13 by grounding it and it can be seen changing state in the Hal show.
Where do I look now? I really should of looked into the Gecko 320x more before I brought them, Its becoming a real pain in the ass to get these things to work properly.
Or maybe I am facing problems because the power supply for the reset/error circuit is coming from the drives themselves, would I be better off by wiring the circuit from the spare step and direction pins on the Mesa 7i76e?

You should be able to just check the Gecko output voltage relative to 7I76E ground
with a DVM

I have checked and No I do not have a common ground, Is that all that my problem is? So wiring the circuit so that is has a common ground should solve the issue?
