Help choosing a good card setup
mesaflash --device 7i84 --readhmid
( or mesaflash --device 7i84 --addr 10.10.10.10 --readhmid ??)
ERROR: Unsupported device 7I84
or with newer mesaflash from github.com/jethornton/mesaflash
./mesaflash --device 7i84 --readhmid
(or mesaflash --device 7i84 --addr 10.10.10.10 --readhmid ??)
ERROR: Unsupported device 7I84
No 7I84 board found
I've got all power in pins connected to 12v. (and gnd to gnd)
The manual says: CR6 Red Lower left Field I/O fault
It doesn't matter if LinuxCNC is running or not.
I have nothing set up yet, just trying to get all the cards running.
Can't find a solution with google.
The 7i92 has been flashed with 7i92_7i77_7i74D.bit (correct firmware?)
Both 7i92 and 7i74 have their own 5V supply.
I have tested a few different network cables, none are crossover.
Sserial has been installed for the 7i84.
I'm sure I've missed something..?

Just remembered that even that might not work.
Can you start Linuxcnc ?
If yes, go to machine menu and choose configuratin something, that brings another screen, on the left choose pins, 7i92 and there you can see all the awailable pins.
It needs to be initialised before making pins visible, it can be done in hal only, but i can not recal the exact commands.

to use devices on the 7I74, something like:
sserial_port_0=000xxxxx sserial_port_1=000000
in the config string for the hm2_eth driver
BTW, you can list sserial devices with mesaflash with:
mesaflash --device 7i92 --addr 10.10.10.10 --sserial

Yes I can start LinuxCNC without errors.tommylight wrote: 7i84 will not report anything with mesaflash, you have to check 7i92 in your case and it will show pins for 7i84, if it is wired and communicating properly.

In HAL configuration, under pins, there is no 7i92 at all. Pins seem to be the same both if I have the 7i92 connected or disconnected.
7i92 or 7i84 needs to be initialized? Where/how?
Sorry, seems I have no idea what I'm doing here..

Where can I find the hm2_eth driver? Can't find such a file.PCW wrote: With a 7I77/7I74 configuration, you need to enable the second sserial port

Sserial gives back:

SSLBP channels: 3
SSLBP baud rate: 2500000

I have bridged all four field inputs to the same 12v supply.bevins wrote: You have to supply power for both Field A and Field B on the field power connector.
