Hi,
the encoder IC has weak drivers, which are not strong enuf to drive signals over long cables.
But it already has differential outputs for ABZ interface.
Is it appropriate to use a 74vhc14 as amplifier as it has 6 drivers in one IC?
For the BISS interface I plan to use a max3491 (one driver and one receiver).
Is that ok to work with mesa cards I have?

MAX3491/ISL83491 should work for BISS
For quadrature I would use a quad RS-422 driver
(26LS31, ISL32174 etc etc)

I guess, that means not using differential output from sensor.
Will an AM26C31 be usable too?

Any RS-422 compatible differential driver should do including the AM26C31

Well, I thought so, when I worked out my bob for smartserial with a max491 - which did not the job.
Therefore this time I asked before ordering a diy-board.
So thank you for your support!
