Good Day All,

Have just started to add Linuxcnc to my Matsuura MC-1000V4.
Have not been able to flash the 5i24.
When I received the 5i24 the FPGA FLASH SELECT (W7),
was in the down , backup position.
I moved W7 to the up position as per the manual.
When power was applied the 5i24 monentarily flashed .
Then I tried to flash the 5i24 and the following error occurred.

john@debian:~$ cd Downloads/5i24/
john@debian:~/Downloads/5i24$ ls
configs utils
john@debian:~/Downloads/5i24$ cd configs/hostmot2
john@debian:~/Downloads/5i24/configs/hostmot2$ sudo mesaflash --device 5i24 --verify 5i24_16_svss6_8.bit
[sudo] password for john:

Error at 0x1000EA expected: 0x10 but read: 0x0
john@debian:~/Downloads/5i24/configs/hostmot2$

As I have very limited knowledge,
any help with the problem
will be very much appreciated.

john@debian:~/Downloads/5i24/configs/hostmot2$ sudo mesaflash --device 5i24 --verify 5i24_16_svss6_8.bit

That is the expected result if the loaded firmware was not 5i24_16_svss6_8.bit

if you want to write and verify a new bifile you would:

~/Downloads/5i24/configs/hostmot2$ sudo mesaflash --device 5i24 --write 5i24_16_svss6_8.bit --verify 5i24_16_svss6_8.bit

Thank you PCW for the quick reply,
With your aid, I have flashed the 5i24 and also printed out the pin outs.
Now the fun starts.
Cheers john
