The board is a Universal Stepper version 5.1 - 2012.
The system is linuxcnc 2.8.0.
The system was run under 'manual' mode. Led's 3 and 8 turned red. What is the cause of these led's being turned on red.
Thank you. Dan

Defined in hardware, LED8 and SSR8 are tied to out-of-estop. So, LED8 must turn on to bring the board out of the E_stop condition.

Defined in the univstep_io.hal file, LED1/SSR1 is tied to spindle forward, LED2/SSR2 is spindle reverse, and LED3/SSR3 is spindle brake. So, with no spindle command, the brake should be on, thus LED3 is lit. If you go to MDI and enter M3 S100
LED3 should go out and LED1 should light up. (You will first have to home all axes with the home button by selecting whatever axes you have and pressing home or clicking home on the screen.)
