Mesa 7i76e quadrature encoders on MPG inputs? was created by Eyecon

I'm in the process of CNC converting a mini lathe and I was wondering if a 600P/R quadrature encoder can be used on the MGP inputs (pins 16-19) to act as jog controllers for the z and x axis?

As long as the MPGs have 5V output signals they should work
