I recently picked up a 7C81. I'm just starting to plan front panel IO.
I had considered a custom PCB with a 25pin IDC, 8-bit ADC and such to accomodate the following features
Spindle speed override
Feed speed override
Rapid speed override
Axis selector knob ( 6 axis )
MPG 100 PPR jog dial
Keyswitch (on/of)
Start
Stop
Reset
E-stop
Alternatively, the MESA 7i73 pendant board - this looks great! Is the 7i73 compatible with the 7C81 / LinuxCNC?
Edit - another option with a few ADC ports would be the MESA 7i76.
