7i49 with 7i77 and 5i25 was created by Dbsharp
I'm giving my chnc one more try, then I'm gonna scrap it. It has a 7i49 for the resolvers, I have tried before and found non linear feedback in halscope, then scoped out the resolvers with an oscilloscope and checked a bunch of stuff.... the resolvers and Mechanicals seem ok. This machine has 6 Mesa cards and the setup is at least 10 years old. I'll link the videos later if anyone's interested
I have a spare 7i77 and a computer with a 5i25 I can test with. I'm thinking I'll use them on here and try to get it functional. The 6 Mesa card setup is kind of a mess.
anyways there really doesn't seem to be a lot of info out there about using a 7i49 and firmware, etc... so I figured I'd ask.

Moved to "driver boards".

Unfortunately, the resolvers on my Mazak were some strange inverse type so i could not use Mesa 7i49, hence i can not help.
I would have gladly used it, would have saved me a lot of ... 3D printing mounts for encoders!

For reference here are the videos I made while troubleshooting the issue originally.
Also I think I will need svrm6s.bit if I am to do any more testing on the original setup

I don't know if you can use a 7i49 with a 5i25 and 7i77. The 5i25 is a DB25 card and the 7i49 is HD50.
I have both my mill and lathe running with resolvers and 7i49. I should be able to help you get your current system running.
What cards are currently installed?
For info my mill uses 5i23 + 7i49 (and 3 x 8i20, 7i44, 7i64) and my lathe is 5i24 + 7i49 (and 7i44, 8i20, 7i84, 7i73)

Yea, I realized this after I started looking into connecting them!
However, I have solved the problem! The resolvers on my hardinge are not 1:2 or 1:1. They are "syncro resolver control transformer" with 2:1 ratio. It says 2 pahse in 12v and 1 phase out 6v on the resolver. I was getting 1.6v back from the resolvers using the half voltage ouptut.
So I made a voltage divider circuit to cut the 1v reference signal from the 7i49 down to .5v, and now the resolver signals are right at 1 v and it's working great. I checked motion with a couple different .0001" indicators and it's on the money, no more nonlinear issues.
