The first thing you need to do is take the cover off the big nut and remove it while the turret is down.

Down to the turret stop ratchet. Kinda nasty in there but no rust.

Putting the piston back in. All the quad rings can be purchased from McMaster Carr just measure the id or od of the ring.

She gits up and spins now lol.

Hello John,

Great job, and great documentation of the work. With that step by step no one should by shy about tackling the job if need be. Of course it helps to know you are there if trouble shows up!

Hi Rick,

The only trouble I ran into taking it that far apart was getting the ratchet timed. What I had to do was assemble all but the tool plate then fire the lock then the lift and rotate to bring it into alignment. Release the air from the lift and rotate then install the tool plate. This got me into mechanical alignment. Then I just spun the magnet around the encoder till the correct number showed up in my HAL watch window and locked it down.

I am at the point where I need to do this mechanical alignment. I am not sure exactly what needs to get aligned. I am able to raise the piston but it will not spin. Sounds like I need to unlock the stop and bring the turret around so the stop aligns...?
