mblaszkiewicz wrote: The Max velocity is in the ini file or in the Hal? . I think when I used the config program it defaulted to 60 and I never adjusted it.
It is generally in the INI file, it's a quick experiment to increase it. (I would do it in stages....)

mblaszkiewicz wrote: Well making chips today (wood) I will post a pic when its done in a few hours. The only issue is the speed. The machine is running slow. Only about 60 ipm. I have it programmed for 150 ipm.
I wonder if it is

MAX_LINEAR_VELOCITY = 1.000000
That would be 1 inch per second = 60 ipm. (Though I don't think it should be that, it's easy to change to find out)

high IPM is just an awesome time-saver, even if not cutting at high IPM. IMO, most mills are limited to 5-8k usable rpm, and a smaller machine such as yours would be happy with a 3/8" EM @ 0.030" stepover 0.5" DOC and 200-300ipm cutting alum, steel might need a tad less step-over, still keep the IPM high and engagement angle low on the cutter. I would really like to know how your setup handles higher IPM cutting.
