Hola here victor from Germany,
I had recently purchased this great item for my univ, and i would really enjoy using this machine under LinuxCNC.
When connect this to the konsole i get the following readings as a printer:
Oct 25 12:41:31 rvxmint kernel: [ 713.846054] usb 3-1: new full-speed USB device number 4 using ohci-pci
Oct 25 12:41:31 rvxmint kernel: [ 714.073914] usb 3-1: New USB device found, idVendor=0b75, idProduct=0255
Oct 25 12:41:31 rvxmint kernel: [ 714.073918] usb 3-1: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3
Oct 25 12:41:31 rvxmint kernel: [ 714.073921] usb 3-1: Product: TS-30
Oct 25 12:41:31 rvxmint kernel: [ 714.073923] usb 3-1: Manufacturer: Roland DG
Oct 25 12:41:31 rvxmint kernel: [ 714.073926] usb 3-1: SerialNumber: 001
Oct 25 12:41:32 rvxmint kernel: [ 714.525642] usblp 3-1:1.0: usblp1: USB Bidirectional printer dev 4 if 0 alt 0 proto 2 vid 0x0B75 pid 0x0255
Oct 25 12:41:32 rvxmint kernel: [ 714.525779] usbcore: registered new interface driver usblp
Oct 25 12:41:37 rvxmint kernel: [ 719.602074] usblp1: removed
Oct 25 12:41:37 rvxmint kernel: [ 719.632124] usblp 3-1:1.0: usblp1: USB Bidirectional printer dev 4 if 0 alt 0 proto 2 vid 0x0B75 pid 0x0255
I had also made the following photos of the main board for the 3 axix steppers and the spindle.
I'm guessing that the USB might be just a USB to parallel port adapter, connected by the white flat cable.
If this is true we could make the configuration much easier.
Thank you very much for your time!

It looks like it might be USB-to-parallel but if it is I doubt that the data format is simple step/dir pulses.
I rather imagine that it is sending data (like the Pico and Mesa EPP cards do)
Do you have access to an oscilloscope or logic analyser to test this?
I suspect that it will be easier to swap the Roland driver board for one of the cheap 3-axis driver boards from eBay or similar.

Hola Andy!
Thanks for your fast answer.
I have with me a 4ch Rigol DS1074 100mhz scope and i could get also a 10ch. logic analyser.
I have also consider the idea of use some cheap 3axis boards + Baglebone-pru, but i thought could be also a good possibility to use the system its already there and maybe just produce in the lab the USB interface, luckilly I´m not in a hurry for this and I could document the process so other could benefit from this (?)
So any ideas are very wellcome!
